DAY 1 – CHIANG MAI TO CHIANGDAO (Approx. 30 to 40 km cycling / 25 miles)
After breakfast, pick up at your hotel and drive in covered pick-up truck north to the Chiangdao area. Stop at an elephant camp nestled in lush jungle surrounding. Watch the elephants bathing and demonstrating their skills. (Optional, only for participants wanting to stop and visit the camp). Then we start our bike ride along typical North Thailand countryside, followed by some forest and valley trails, leading to small hill tribe villages. Visit Lahu, Lisu, and Akkha villages, and also discover the Palaung people, who originate in Myanmar and have only a few settlements in Northern Thailand. After a visit to the villages and taking refreshments, we ride the last few kilometers to reach the Padeng Lodge, our overnight accommodation., Relax and shower watching the sunset over the Chiang Dao mountain range, before an excellent Thai dinner.

DAY 2 CHIANG DAO BACK TO CHIANG MAI (Approx. 40 km cycling / 25 miles)
Today is an easy cycling day in great natural surroundings! Most cycling is on paved road, though the first section is a fast-moving easy trail through the forest, leading to a Lisu village. Our escort vehicle is always around (except during raining season). Ride over a paved road to reach our lunch place at a local restaurant. Afternoon cycling mostly on narrow rural lanes eventually leading to the Chiang Dao caves. Explore the caves and relax until we will have our vehicle transferred back to your Chiang Mai hotel.
