Chiang Mai & Mae Kampong village 2 days/1 night. A 2-day, 1-night tour from Chiang Mai to Mae Kampong is the ultimate slow-travel escape into nature. Tucked away in a misty mountain valley 1,300 meters above sea level, this 100-year-old eco-village is famous for its cool year-round climate, traditional wooden stilt cottages, and tea-plantation culture. Unlike rugged jungle trekking, this experience focuses on relaxation, cafe culture, light forest walks, and rich local community connection.

8.30am Leave Chiang Mai city with a minivan drive though the scenic mountain green lush on the way stop at the local market to select the ingredients for making dinner on your own. Upon arrival in Mae Kam Pong, we will be met by some of the villagers. You will learn about the history of this remarkable village and take a beautiful trek around the village. Most villagers are engaged in growing bai miang, a kind of plant that can be processed into tea. Apart from bai miang, they also grow coffee and aromatic mushrooms. Other villagers are making handicrafts such as decorated pillows filled with tealeaves, rattan baskets and bamboo furniture.

Various short walks are possible around Mae Kam Pong. Our program is flexible and will be adjusted according to your wishes. Lunch will be either in a homestay in the village or a picnic lunch along the way, depending on the program. A traditional massage is available.

Dinner and overnight will be at the village homestay.

Early morning 7.00am offer alms to the monks at the village temple with your host. Breakfast will be served to you by the host and stroll around the community to see the making of local hats, bamboo furniture, bamboo handicraft, herbal products and the process of fermented tea leaf processing. Then visit the San Kamphaeng Hot spring and see the 100 degrees Celsius water from underground. Drive back to Chiang Mai City for 1 hour (at around 12:00 PM)
