Chieng Mai Biking To Mae Hong Son Hills . If you’re looking for some seriously challenging road cycling then this is the ride for you! Starting in Chiang Mai, this tour will take you to the tallest and toughest peaks Thailand has to offer on spectacular, winding roads that provide tough but-rewarding climbs and exciting descents. Comprised of towering mountains with densely forested slopes, Thailand’s northern province of Mae Hong Son is known for its stunning scenery and varied ethnic hill tribes who live in remote villages. This tour will take you up and down. With breathtaking scenery, challenging riding, and plenty of off-bike experiences to enjoy as well, the stage is set for a uniquely rewarding holiday – one you and your legs will remember for a long time to come! Join us for a ride around the Mae Hong Son Loop.

Day 1 ( D ): Arrive in Chiang Mai, pick up from the airport and transfer to the hotel. Assemble bikes, enjoy Chiang Mai, or go for a warm-up ride in the area.

Day 2 ( B, L ): We start with a challenge up to the top of Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest peak. We take a break at the summit of Thailand before a steep ride downhill.

Day 3 ( B, L ): Again we will ascend more than 2,500 m but it will be with some downhills thrown into the mix, as our total descent will be more than 2,900 m. We ride past beautiful farms, orchards, and forests.

Day 4 ( B, L ): Today is an easier day in terms of kilometers ridden and ascents, but there are still some hills to get over. We are now in hill tribe country, close to the border with Burma. Ending the day with an uphill ride to the small village of Khun Yuam.

Day 5 ( B, L ): Today is our easiest day yet as the ride is short and we will have an overall downhill to Mae Hong Son. As this is Christmas Eve, you will be able to finish riding early, enjoy the pool at your resort and have plenty of time to get ready for a festive dinner. Day 6Enjoy the natural surroundings of your hotel, a well-deserved massage, or perhaps go for a leisurely ride to one of the many waterfalls in the area, you have the day to yourself.

Day 7 ( B, L ): Today we are back to tough and long ascents. As we leave Mae Hong Son the first 50 km will be undulating and then it’s time to start climbing. Our resort is just past Pai and has the advantage of having natural hot springs.

Day 8 ( B, L, D  ): Today starts with a 20 km climb out of Pai valley. The views of the mountains are superb as we ride to an altitude of 1,440m. We end in Chiang Mai and have a farewell dinner toasting our riding accomplishments.

Day 9 ( B ): We’ll transfer you to the airport for your onward flight.
